The Consulate General of Greece in Chicago, in cooperation with the Hellenic Museum of Michigan, has announced a photography contest as part of the United States 250th anniversary commemorations.

Titled “Hellenic Footprints: Greek Stories in Midwest,” the open call invites submissions that capture the historical presence, cultural life, and contemporary expressions of the Greek-American community across the Midwest.

Who Can Participate

Participation is open to Greek Americans.

Geographic Eligibility

Photographs must be taken within the Consulate’s jurisdiction, which includes the following twelve states:

Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

Exhibition

Selected works will be featured in a curated video presentation and exhibited at the Hellenic Museum of Michigan as part of the official U.S. 250th anniversary events.

  • Submissions open: February 11, 2026
  • Deadline: April 20, 2026
