Hellenic Hearts is accepting applications for its 2026 Filodoxia Scholar Program, which will award up to four scholarships of $7,500 each. The program combines financial assistance with mentorship, career guidance, and opportunities to participate in Hellenic cultural programs.

Each selected scholar is paired with a mentor who provides guidance on education and career planning, interview preparation, résumé writing, and networking. Scholars also receive access to Hellenic Hearts board members and donors for additional guidance. Recipients are expected to mentor younger Filodoxia Scholars in the future.

Through Hellenic Hearts’ partnership with the National Hellenic Society, recipients may participate in the Heritage Greece and Heritage America programs. Hellenic Hearts says it will cover participation costs, including travel and lodging.

Applicants must:

  • Be of Greek descent
  • Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident from the Greater Philadelphia or Tri-State region
  • Be a high school senior planning to pursue a degree, or a current full-time student at an accredited four-year college, university, or professional school
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program during the 2026–2027 academic year

The official application page refers both to professional-school students and to full-time undergraduate enrollment. Applicants in graduate-level professional programs should confirm their eligibility directly with Hellenic Hearts.

Previously selected Filodoxia Scholars may not reapply. Applicants do not need to know which institution they will attend or what financial-aid package they will receive when they submit their application.

Required materials include an online application, a one- to two-page essay, academic transcripts, one letter of recommendation, and standardized test scores when available. The recommendation must come from a guidance counselor, adviser, teacher, or professor and be submitted on official letterhead.

Some applicants must also provide the first page of their FAFSA Student Aid Report and a university financial aid letter. The Scholarship Awards Committee may contact finalists for a personal interview.

Applications and all required materials are due August 15, 2026. Supporting documents, excluding the recommendation letter, must be submitted by email no later than 5 p.m.

Full eligibility requirements, documentation instructions, and the online form are available on the Hellenic Hearts scholarship application page.
