The Hellenic Medical Society of Philadelphia held its fall education symposium at Estia Restaurant this past October. The event featured Dr Konstantinos Plestis, Chair of the division of Cardiovascular Surgery of the Main Line Health system. HMS President Dr Denis Hadjiliadis opened the evening and introduced Dr Plestis. The lecture was moderated by HMS Board member Dr Elias Iliadis.
Dr Plestis described his extensive experience in aortic surgery and valve disease surgery, citing his own patient series from Lenox Hill Hospital, that produced outcomes better than the national numbers published by the Society for Thoracic Surgery. Many excellent questions were discussed and an excellent evening of education and networking with the Hellenic Professionals of the Hellenic Medical Society was shared.
