The Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia will host a special lecture exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases. The event, titled “Leveraging Imaging and AI for Personalized Diagnosis and Treatment of Brain Diseases (with emphasis on Alzheimer’s Disease),” will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Amy Gutmann Hall Auditorium, 3333 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.
The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 PM, followed by the lecture at 7:00 PM. Registration is required, and attendees are asked to bring a photo ID.
The featured speaker, Dr. Christos Davatzikos, is the Wallace T. Miller Sr. Professor of Radiology and Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of the AI2D Center for AI and Data Science for Integrated Diagnostics. A leading figure in neuroimaging and machine learning, Dr. Davatzikos has led major international research collaborations focused on understanding brain aging and disease.
His lecture will examine how advanced imaging and AI can detect subtle brain changes associated with Alzheimer’s, opening new possibilities for early diagnosis and personalized treatment. He will also discuss how machine-learning “imaging signatures” can capture the brain’s natural variability, the challenges of harmonizing large datasets across international studies, and how this research is now supporting promising clinical trials at Penn.
