Philadelphia, PΑ – It ended with a kiss in front of city hall. With the iconic building and clock tower behind them and a Christmas village at Love Park in front, Nick asked Stephanie for her hand in marriage.
On Saturday morning, Stephanie Medori woke up wondering if today would be the day that boyfriend Nick Bahateridis would pop the question. Hours later, as they strolled through city hall’s Dilworth Park before dinner, it came true.
A light rain had started as the couple made their way to the intersection of JFK and 17th street. Hiding in the crowd, newly engaged friends Renee Koumatos and John Vasiliou looked on with a bottle of champagne. Moments later, Stephanie turned to Nick, who dropped to one knee and revealed a shiny red box. Cosmos Philly’s team quickly burst onto to the scene and captured the emotional exchange between the pair. A champagne toast with friends Renee and John and a kiss sealed the historic moment.
Nick grew up in Upper Darby and is a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church. While Stephanie is from Drexel Hill and grew up in a Italian-American family. The couple began dating two years ago, after being introduced by mutual friends.
No date is set yet for the wedding. The couple is still celebrating the moment through the glitter of the holiday season.
