Ioanna (Joanne) Bebi passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Lehovo, Greece, and later moved to the US with her husband Constantine (Gus), whom she met at 19. She fell in love with the country and moved there on Christmas Eve in 1966.
Ioanna had a bright smile and always had something wonderful to say. She was an amazing wife and mother who loved to cook and entertain her friends and family. Her hobbies included Greek crossword puzzles, embroidery, and knitting. She remembered everyone’s birthday and name day and was always there to comfort everyone. She was also a loving grandmother (Yiayia). She will be remembered for her generosity, bubbly personality, and kindness. She touched everyone she met and will be dearly missed by all.
Ioanna is survived by her husband Constantine (Gus), her daughters Venetia Bebi and Anthoula Bebi, her loving granddaughter Maria Kravvaritis, and her great-grandson Kostanstinos. She is also survived by her brothers Apostolos Boutsis and Panagiotis Boutsis, sister-in-law Anna Papaioanou, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends both in the US and Greece.
A viewing will honor Ioanna’s life journey from 11 am to 12 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral located at 256 South 8th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Her funeral service will take place at 12 pm in the church, followed by interment at Fernwood Cemetery located at 6501 E. Baltimore Ave, Lansdowne, PA 19050.
