The March 15 fundraiser at the Museum of the American Revolution will feature a live conversation, lunch, and networking in support of the Daughters of Penelope’s charitable programs.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, members and friends of Tritonia #129, Daughters of Penelope, will gather in Philadelphia on Sunday, March 15, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, 101 South 3rd Street, for a special fundraising event featuring Iphigenia Kanara, Consul General of Greece in New York.

Titled “A Conversation with Iphigenia Kanara,” the three-hour, in-person gathering is designed as an open and engaging discussion. Guests can expect a relaxed conversation filled with insights, stories, and inspiration, with the opportunity to ask questions and hear her perspective up close.

The program begins at 1:00 p.m. with a buffet lunch, followed at 2:00 p.m. by the featured conversation with Kanara. The afternoon concludes with networking from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., offering guests time to continue discussions and connect with one another.

The event carries particular meaning for the Greek-American community in the Philadelphia area. Consul General Kanara has long been engaged with local Hellenic organizations and initiatives, supporting the city and its Greek community through her presence and participation. Many have come to know her not only in her diplomatic capacity but also as a steady presence at important community moments.

“In times like these, it is so important to celebrate women who are fearless, who take on challenges with strength and grace, and who inspire us to recognize what we are capable of achieving,” said Artemis “Tami” Tsingiropoulos, president of Tritonia #129. “We are proud to spotlight an accomplished Greek woman whose leadership reflects the very best of our heritage and community.”

Holding the gathering at the Museum of the American Revolution in Old City offers its own symbolism. In a place closely tied to the nation’s founding ideals, the afternoon invites reflection on civic leadership today and the evolving role of women who serve in public life while representing both their country and their heritage.

Tickets are priced at $108.55 and include the buffet lunch. Additional net proceeds will support the Daughters of Penelope’s charitable initiatives. Tickets may be purchased through Eventbrite.

Guests will also be able to participate in a drawing for gift cards to local restaurants and several gift baskets. Organizers encourage community members who are able to donate gift cards or baskets to contribute, further supporting the charitable mission of the Daughters.

As Women’s History Month invites reflection on both past struggles and present achievements, the afternoon is expected to offer more than a formal program. It is an opportunity for conversation, sisterhood, and connection within the Philadelphia Greek community, centered on the journey of a woman whose public service continues to resonate well beyond one afternoon.
