John Ioannis Bageas of Huntingdon Valley passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was 71.

He was born in Elatohori, Greece, to Aphroditi and Stephanos Bageas. Those who knew John remember a kind man, steady and generous, always willing to help when someone needed him. He worked hard, cared for his family, and was happiest in the company of relatives and friends.

John was married to Deborah Bageas, née Dalessio, for 41 years. He was the father of Stephanos Bageas and Anna Gunsser, wife of Keith, and the grandfather of Ioannis and Elias Gunsser, whom he loved deeply.

He is also survived by his brother, George Bageas, and his wife, Maria, and his sister, Filio Routsa, and her husband, Kosta.

Services were held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Elkins Park, followed by burial at Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge.

Memorial contributions in John Ioannis Bageas’ memory may be made to Temple University Hospital.
