Konstantinos Davidis, a father, grandfather, and longtime member of the local Greek-American community, passed away on February 28, 2026. He was 96.
Affectionately known to family and friends as “Kostaki” and “Kosta,” Davidis was born in Greece in 1929. His early years were shaped by the upheaval of war before he later immigrated to the United States, where he was given the name “Gus” upon arrival.
In the United States, he worked as an industrial painter and cook while attending college. Over time, he went on to own several restaurants, providing for his family and helping both of his daughters complete college and graduate school.
Family remained at the center of his life. Those who knew him remember his humor, generosity, and the welcoming atmosphere he created in his home. He was also known for his cooking and baking, which often brought family and friends together.
Davidis is survived by his daughters Maria (Michael Jones-Correa) and Georgia, and his grandchildren Konstantine, Miranda, Ari, and Niki. He was preceded in death by his wife, Niki, and his siblings Elli, Sophia, and Eric.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Lane in Upper Darby. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill.
Flowers may be sent to St. Demetrios in his honor on March 5. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (saintdemetrios.org) or to a place of worship aligned with one’s beliefs.
May his memory be eternal.
