Konstantinos “Gus” Markatos, 80, of Broomall, a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather died June 5, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Eleftheria (nee Kanakis), his children Angelo (Jacqueline), Nikolaos (Pandora), and Dennis and his grandchildren Arianna, Sophia, Elena, Isabella, Alexander, and Eva.

Born in Kefalonia, Greece he immigrated to the United States and lived in Upper Darby, where he worked as an auto mechanic and became co-owner of Panco Garage. His generosity knew no bounds as he always strove to provide for a family member or to help a friend in need. His primary concern was the well-being of others over that of his own. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure to meet him.

Funeral service will be 12:30 pm Friday, June 9, 2017, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Lane, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Friends and family are welcome to attend his viewing one hour prior to the service in the church. The interment will follow the service at Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church.
