Jeffersonville, PA – When you’re done having a Greek coffee, you can read the grounds and find out about your future. Father Peter Thornberg of St. Sophia and Father Alexandros of Evangelismos shared a cup and the Greek tradition that continues all weekend, at the St Sophia’s Greek Festival. It’s a wonderful place to also enjoy Greek sweets, like loukoumades, galaktoboureko and more.

On Friday afternoon, the food lines at this Greek festival inside the church hall and under the tent wrapper for hours. No matter, the “Asteria” dancers of St. Sophia provided live Greek folk dancing to entertain guests. Add in some wonderful parishioners, a golden setting sun on the church facade, and you think you’re in Greece.

The St. Sophia Greek Festival continues all weekend long. There’s plenty of free parking, great food, games, and rides for the kids and family atmosphere. It’s a rain or shine event, so don’t miss out. The restaurant opens at 11 am on Wednesday and runs all day into the evening.
