Mary P. Gialas, née Pappas, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026. She was 94.

Born on April 7, 1932, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mary moved with her family to Reading when she was 10 years old and later graduated from Reading High School.

She met George Gialas at an AHEPA district convention, a meeting that marked the beginning of a life they would build together. They were married on November 18, 1962, and shared more than five decades as husband and wife before George’s passing in February 2017.

Mary worked at Strawbridge & Clothier from 1971 until she and George retired in 1985. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren, teaching them from her own life and sharing the lessons that mattered to her.

She is survived by her daughter, Vikki Aristoklis; her son-in-law, Ted; and her grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Christina, and Maria and her husband, Dimitri.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Road, Trenton, New Jersey. The funeral service will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Trenton.
