Maria “Mary” Zafiropoulos, née Mackrides, of Hobe Sound, Florida, and formerly of Springfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 84.

Mary was born on March 6, 1942, in Philadelphia to Harry and Despina Mackrides. Her life was rooted in family, friendship, faith, and a steady generosity toward the people around her. Those who knew her remember her warmth, her gentle nature, and the devotion she gave to the people she loved.

She shared 63 years of marriage with her husband, John Zafiropoulos. Together, they built a family shaped by shared memories, milestones, and the everyday moments that stay with loved ones over time.

Mary is survived by her husband, John; her children, George Zafiropoulos and his wife, Jacqueline Mraz, Christina Kaltsidis and her husband, George Kaltsidis, and Deborah Zafiropoulos; and her grandchildren, Maria and Victoria Kaltsidis and Gia and Armani Zafiropoulos. She is also survived by her siblings, Sue Corialos and her husband, Gregory Corialos, William Mackrides, and Trephone Mackrides. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Anne Mackrides, née Doucas.

Her grandchildren brought great joy to her life, and her family remained at the center of who she was. Mary loved being with those close to her, celebrating important moments, sharing her humor, and offering the quiet wisdom that came from a life lived with care and devotion.

Mary will also be remembered for the care she showed beyond her own family, especially toward the life of her church community and its young people. In that spirit, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Youth Group of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church, 35 N. Malin Road, Broomall, Pennsylvania 19008. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.

May her memory be eternal.
