Molly Rentos Kramer, 94, of Riverview Park in Reading, PA, entered into eternal peace on September 27, 2025, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald I. (Jerry) Kramer, who passed away in 1999.
Born in Reading on July 11, 1931, Molly was the daughter of George John and Stravroula Mbliamblias Rentos, who had both emigrated from Greece. She graduated from Reading High School in 1950 as a member of the National Honor Society. After school, she worked as a seamer of designer hosiery at Berkshire Knitting Mills and later at Talbott Knitting Mills. In 1980, she began a new career at AT&T Technologies Microelectronics, which later became Lucent, retiring in 1996 after sixteen years of service.
Molly and Jerry shared a love of travel, exploring many parts of the United States and Canada, with cruises to Hawaii, Bermuda, the Caribbean, and Greece among their favorite memories. At home, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and reading. She was also an accomplished poet, with several pieces published. In every part of her life, whether through work, hobbies, or travel, Molly carried a deep sense of faith and community.
Her faith and church life were central to her. A dedicated member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Wyomissing, she proudly served in the St. Xenia Philoptochos Society. For many years she helped bake bread and pastries for the parish’s annual bazaar and worked on the food line in the church dining room. Through her service she formed lifelong friendships and lived out her commitment to community.
Above all, Molly treasured her family. She often called her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren her “many gifts from God.” Her warmth, generosity, and devotion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death earlier this year by her sister Evangeline Billys and her brother Dr. Pantelis Rentos. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl A. Kramer-Zabrecchi and her husband Roland, and by her son Dr. Jon G. Kramer and his wife Donna. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lindsey Kopec and her husband Scott, Lauren Garman and her husband Andrew, James Kramer and his wife Nora, and Nicole Ellis and her husband Richard. Her great-grandchildren are Blake and Axel Kopec, Jason and Joyce Kramer, and Blair and Chloe Ellis. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Dr. Michael Billys, Stephanie Billys, George Rentos, Michael Rentos, Bonnie Stock, and Vicki Kramer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Exeter Township. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:00 AM.
