The Nafpaktian & Perihora Society will host its 5th Annual Tsiknopempti Glendi on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., at The Mansion in Voorhees, New Jersey, continuing a tradition that brings together Greek-American families from South Jersey and the greater Philadelphia region.
Tsiknopempti, often called the “Thursday of Smoke,” is a long-standing Greek carnival custom marking the final major meat celebration before the start of Great Lent. The evening is traditionally centered around food, music, and dancing, and has become a popular winter gathering for community organizations throughout the diaspora.
This year’s glendi will include a buffet dinner, open bar, and live Greek music, with entertainment provided by Yianni Papastefanou & Orchestra, known for blending traditional and contemporary Greek sounds.
