Philadelphia woke up to a full morning at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Metropolis of New Jersey are hosting “Nicaea Then and Now.” It is not every day that our community gets a deep dive into one of the most important moments in Christian history, and today the Cathedral feels especially alive.

The gathering brings together three well-known scholars who are helping us look at the First Ecumenical Council not as something distant or locked in a history book, but as a living part of the Orthodox faith.
Later this afternoon, Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey will share his reflections, bringing together the scholarly talks with the life of the Church as we experience it now.
