Double OT Thriller, Arseniko Locks In, and the Playoffs Loom
They say “the third time’s a charm” — and for the Grizzlies, it nearly was. After going winless for two straight seasons, they came into Thursday night’s matchup riding a two-game win streak and hoping to make it three. What would have been a record-breaking moment fell just short, but not without a fight.
In a dramatic double-overtime battle against the Warriors, the Grizzlies showed heart and grit. Jim Kemmerer lit up the scoreboard with 30 points, and Andrew Milonas added 25 in a game that kept fans on edge until the final whistle. But the night belonged to George Vlahos of the Warriors, who delivered a commanding 39-point performance to lead his team to an 87–82 win.
The Warriors, who started the season slowly, are quietly heating up at just the right time. Focused and steady, they’re shaping up to be a serious playoff threat.
Game Two: 100% Arseniko 49 – Spurs 40
The second game of the night featured two playoff-bound teams in a slow-paced, defensive showdown. 100% Arseniko and the Spurs traded baskets for much of the game, but it was Arseniko who pulled away in the final minutes.
Chris Voutsakis led Arseniko with 15 points, while Vasili Rousseas kept the Spurs in the game with 17, including a few timely three-pointers. In the end, it was Arseniko’s control and defensive discipline that sealed the 49–40 win.
