Upper Darby, PA – PGBL Tips Off Its 8th Season with Three Opening Night Matchups
The Philadelphia Greek Basketball League (PGBL) kicked off its eighth season last night at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, drawing fans, families, and players back for another year of competitive action and community spirit.
Game 1: Rip City 78 – Sixers 52
Rip City started the season with a statement win, dominating the Sixers on both ends of the court. Their fast-paced offense and defensive pressure set the tone early and never let up.
Game 2: Danny’s Boys 59 – Kings 46
In a battle between two playoff-tested squads, Danny’s Boys pulled away in the second half. Their experience and depth proved too much for the Kings, who struggled to keep up down the stretch.
Game 3: Revolution 63 – Warriors 47
The Revolution looked sharp in their season debut, locking in defensively and controlling the tempo. The Warriors showed flashes of potential but couldn’t close the gap in the second half.
