Upper Darby, PA – Spartans Shock Rip City, Revolution Hits .500, Wolfpack Holds Steady
It was another unpredictable night in the PGBL as underdogs made noise and contenders looked shaky.
Game 1: Revolution 76 – Mavericks 66
The night opened with a solid win for the Revolution, who now move to 6–5 on the season. Pete Kada was in top form, dropping 28 points to lead all scorers and help his team secure a crucial victory over the still-winless Mavericks.
Game 2: Spartans 51 – Rip City 45
The biggest surprise of the night came in game two. Rip City, known for their aggressive play, struggled from the start, missing shot after shot in what looked like a post-holiday hangover. The Spartans, seizing the opportunity, played smart and disciplined basketball. Late in the game, Elias Apsis hit several clutch free throws to seal the upset. A hard-fought, well-deserved win for a team that’s been battling all season.
Game 3: Wolfpack 62 – Sixers 42
George Vlahos’ absence was felt early for the Wolfpack, who looked flat and out of rhythm. But despite a slow start, they regrouped and leaned on team depth to pull away from a short-handed Sixers squad. The Pack keeps their championship hopes intact with another win.
The PGBL continues to prove that no win is guaranteed. With just a few weeks left before the playoffs, every team is scrapping for position — and every game counts.
