Upper Darby, PA – The defending champs, the Kings, claimed their second crown last night as they cruised by PAS Giannina. The Kings put on a dominating performance, led by Jim Armenakis and Nicki Veronis who combined for 48 of their team’s total output.
PAS Giannina jumped out to a 9-3 lead before the Kings got the wrecking crew out. PAS threatened throughout the game, in spurts of 10 point runs. The problem was that they lacked a cohesive attack and defense. After the first five minutes of the game, the Kings took control and led by as much as 25 points in the first half. And with each run PAS made, bringing them within 10, the Kings would pile it on again. Early in the second half, a series of five three-pointers by the Kings defined the evening. PAS Giannina never got within 9 points after that. The Kings just had it all rolling their way. Final score: Kings 87, PAS Giannina 68.
The evening concluded with an awards ceremony that gave out MVP, championship, and PGBL Hall of Fame awards.
