The PGBL quarterfinals delivered exactly what fans came for: tight finishes, big performances, and a little bit of surprise.
In the opening game, the Revolution fell behind early, spotting the Warriors a 7–0 lead. They clawed back and stayed within reach the rest of the way, but with just two minutes left they still trailed by three. That’s when Vasilis Nasis stepped up. Fouled while shooting a three, he calmly drained all three free throws to send the game into overtime. The extra period belonged to the Rev’s, who shut down the Warriors and held on for a dramatic one-point win. Nasis finished with 28 points, while Louie Karas led the Warriors with 21. Final: Revolution 57, Warriors 56.
The night’s second game was a scrap from start to finish. The Process pestered the Kings with relentless pressure, forcing steals and turnovers that kept them in the hunt. The Armentani brothers and the Dawson duo gave everything they had, closing the gap to a single point several times in the second half. But the Kings’ offensive punch was too much. Bill Zonios and Jim Armenakis each poured in 17, while the Armentanis answered with 19 and 20. In the end, the Kings pulled away to secure their spot in next week’s semifinals. Final: Kings 66, The Process 59.
