Deptford, NJ – On Saturday, the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley hosted their annual Dignitaries Banquet. Two award presentations h, highlighted the evening, the 2023 Eleftheria Medal and the Grand Marshall.

The evening commenced with a welcome from Mistress of Ceremonies Lauren Mayk, Reporter for NBC10 News, followed by a presentation of the Color Guard-Presidential Guard of The Hellenic Republic. Christina Tripolitis Paxinos performed the National Anthems of Greece and the United States, and the Invocation was by His Eminence, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.

The Eleftheria Medal was presented to Her Excellency Alexandra Papadopoulou, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the United States of America. And the Grand Marshal of the Independence Parade was awarded to the Ambassador of the United States to the Hellenic Republic, His Excellency George J. Tsunis.

Speeches were addressed to attendees by special guests, The Honorable US Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and The Honorable US Congressman Donald Norcross. In addition, the Federation recognized Nicholas Karabots, a longtime Philanthropist, businessman, and benefactor to the Greek Independence Day Parade.
