Philadelphia, PA – “With a name like Philadelphia, there should be a Greek Film festival here,” announced Jimmy DeMetro, Director of the Hellenic Film Society USA. Demetro and Andrea Tsipralis, Chair of the Philadelphia Greek Film Expo, introduced the first of 5 films to be hosted this weekend yesterday evening, at The International House on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

The three-day event was sponsored by the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia and the Hellenic Film Society of USA. Following a short feature film, “Perfect Strangers,” a 2016 release kicked off the evening. The film features seven friends who gather for an evening dinner. They decide to place their phones on the table and share all incoming calls and messages. What follows is an evening on candor and revelation, as they discover just how dangerous truth can be.

The weekend film festival continues tonight and tomorrow at the International House. On Sunday, reception and Q&A will take place as well. More information can be found at the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia.
