Pontian Genocide Remembrance Day Proclamation Presented by Upper Darby Twp

Upper Darby, PA – Members Carry Mossaides and Effie Pavlidou-Economou of the Pontian Akritai of Philadelphia received a proclamation from Upper Darby Twp Mayor Thomas N. Micozzie. The proclamation was for Pontian Genocide “Remembrance Day” (Pontian Genocide, 1915-1923). It was presented by Hellenic Federation President Georgia Halakos and Parade Chairman/Vice President Georgia Chletcos.

They were also presented with signed official T-shirts from the Presidential Honor Guard of Greece. Last night’s meeting at the Pontian Leschi was the summary end of year meeting for the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley.
