Philadelphia, PA – The Greek community gathered yesterday at City Hall in Philadelphia yesterday for the opening ceremony of the Greek Independence Day week.
The event was led by the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia and Delaware Valley. Hosted at the Mayor’s office, several speakers, including President Nikolaos Spiliotis of the Federation and his Eminence, Metropolitan Evangelos spoke about the historic day. Members of the Pan-Macedonian Society and the Pontian Society of Philadelphia had representatives present themselves in traditional folk attire, adding to the color of the day.
