Rodolfos Tomazos of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the age of 100.
He was born in Romania and raised in Greece, where he served in the Greek military and was honored to be part of the King’s personal guard. In the late 1950s, Rudy moved to the United States and settled in New York City. There he met Wanda, the love of his life. They married in 1962 and spent 65 wonderful years together, traveling, building friendships, and creating a life filled with warmth and devotion.
In Manhattan, Rudy opened his own barbershop, cutting hair with pride until, as he liked to joke, “the Beatles came and no one was getting their hair cut.” He then switched paths, purchasing a New York City taxi medallion. Driving through the city streets, he found joy in meeting people from all walks of life and hearing their stories.
Later in life, he and Wanda moved to South Jersey, where he remained active, engaged, and full of energy well into his 100th year. Rudy had a youthful spirit, a sharp wit, and a deep loyalty to the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, a caring brother and uncle, and a cherished friend to many.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, August 7, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by entombment at Parkview Cemetery at Kirby’s Mill in Medford, NJ. Arrangements are by Bradley and Stow Funeral Home in Medford.
