Philadelphia, PA – On March 23, 2014, the 193rd celebration of Greek Independence day will take place along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Starting at 2:00 pm, the event participants will march through the city in this historic moment. The event will be followed by dancing performances and lectures at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church in Upper Darby.

The event is sponsored and hosted by the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley. The Federation is the umbrella organization of over 45 Hellenic-American associations, representing thousands of individuals in the Greek community.

On Saturday evening, the Federation Parade Dinner will be hosted at Adelphia Restaurant, in Deptford New Jersey. Members of the community and dignitaries will be honored for their dedication to Hellenism and the community. The event is open to the public.
