Six Greek-American members of the U.S. House of Representatives won reelection in the November 3 midterm elections, with four Republicans and two Democrats retaining seats across four states. The races have been called, although the results remain unofficial pending certification.
Florida accounted for three victories. Republican Gus Bilirakis defeated Democrat Kimberly Overman in the 12th Congressional District, securing an 11th term. Mike Haridopolos won a second term in the 8th District against Jennifer Jenkins, while Jimmy Patronis defeated Gay Valimont in the 1st District.
Patronis, a former Florida chief financial officer, first entered Congress through an April 2025 special election. His latest victory gives him his first full two-year term. All three victories were recorded in unofficial election returns published by Florida’s Division of Elections.
In New York, Republican Nicole Malliotakis won a fourth consecutive term representing the 11th Congressional District, which includes Staten Island and parts of southern Brooklyn. She defeated Democratic challenger Mike DeCillis.
Maggie Goodlander won a second term in New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District, defeating Republican Lily Tang Williams. Goodlander, whose family roots trace to Avdella in the Grevena region of northern Greece, was first elected in 2024. New Hampshire Public Radio confirmed her victory on election night.
In Nevada, Dina Titus defeated Republican Carrie Buck to retain her seat in the 1st Congressional District, which includes part of Las Vegas. Titus, who has represented the district since 2013, is vice chair of the Congressional Hellenic Caucus. The bipartisan caucus focuses on U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus, including issues affecting the Eastern Mediterranean.
The House victories came alongside Democrat Chris Pappas’ election to the U.S. Senate from New Hampshire. When the new Congress convenes on January 3, 2027, Pappas will become the first Greek-American senator since Olympia Snowe left office in 2013. Six other Greek-American lawmakers will serve in the House of Representatives.
