Sophia K. Verros, 44, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2017.
Born on April 10, 1973, in Philadelphia to Konstantinos and Maria Verros (née Galani), Sophia grew up with her cherished brothers. Sophia attended Cardinal Dougherty HS (1991) and graduated with a BA in Accounting from Temple University (1995). She was a successful CPA, avid runner, and enjoyed traveling.
Sophia will be deeply missed by her stepmother Konstantina Verros, her brothers Athanasios – Tom (Cheryl) and Dimitrios – Jim (Katharine) and her nieces and nephew, Maria, Alexandra, Marisa, and Nicholas. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins within the Philadelphia area and in Greece.
Viewing will be held from 7:30-9:30 pm Wednesday, June 28, and 10-11 am Thursday, June 29 at Annunciation Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, 7921 Old York Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027. Service immediately following the viewing at 11 am. Interment to follow at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
Sophia was, and always will be, a cherished member of the Verros family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Semicolon Project. A semicolon is used when the author could have ended the sentence but chose not to. The author is you, and the sentence is your life.
