St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby held its annual golf outing on Monday, June 8, at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester, bringing parishioners, friends, sponsors, and supporters together for golf, fellowship, and support for the church and its parish programs.
The day began outside the Penn Oaks clubhouse, where volunteers welcomed participants and golf carts lined up before players headed out in foursomes.
Across the course, the outing included sponsor signs, group photos, contests, and lighthearted activities, including a Golf Cannon station, where participants could launch a golf ball down the fairway using a compressed-air device. BMW of Fort Washington was featured on signage for a hole-in-one contest, while New Age Realty Group, Inc. was recognized as the event’s Platinum Sponsor.
Volunteers and supporters helped with registration, food, refreshments, and hospitality around the clubhouse. After the round, guests gathered for dinner, live music, awards, and acknowledgments for those who helped make the outing possible.
For St. Demetrios, the golf outing remains a steady part of the parish calendar, shaped by volunteer work, friendship, and the shared effort to support parish life.
