St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby is preparing to host its annual Greek Wine and Food Festival, a four day event built around food, music, and the work of the parish community.

The festival runs from Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, May 17 at the church grounds, 229 Powell Lane. Organized by St. Demetrios, the event brings together parish volunteers who prepare much of the food on site, reflecting the kinds of dishes and desserts found in church kitchens across the Greek-American community.

Visitors will find a range of traditional meals alongside pastries and sweets, with a Greek market offering items to take home. A wine tasting is also part of the weekend, along with live Greek music, dancing, and ongoing entertainment throughout the festival.

The opening night on Thursday will include a featured comedy performance by Greek comedian Chara Tsioli, presenting her show “Sto Rafi.” The piece centers on marriage expectations, family pressure, and modern dating, drawing on familiar themes from Greek life. Doors open at 7:30 PM, with additional information available on the festival website.

Full hours begin Friday from 5 to 10 PM, continuing Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM, and concluding Sunday from 12 to 8 PM.

Guests can order in person or online at udgreekfest.com, with a delivery available. Free valet parking will be offered on site.
