St. Demetrios Philoptochos Final Fundraiser of the Year

Graphic for the St. Demetrios Philoptochos Final Bougatsa Fundraiser of the Year on Sunday, June 7.

The Philoptochos of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby will hold its final fundraiser of the year on Sunday, June 7, with home-baked bougatsa served warm for $9 per piece.

The sale supports the charitable work of the St. Demetrios Philoptochos, the parish’s philanthropic organization. Like many Philoptochos efforts, it is built around something simple and familiar: food prepared within the community and offered in support of the parish’s outreach.

Bougatsa is commonly made with layers of phyllo and a custard filling, then served warm. At St. Demetrios, the fundraiser brings that familiar Greek pastry into the life of the parish while helping Philoptochos continue its service work.

Home-baked bougatsa will be available through the St. Demetrios Philoptochos in Upper Darby for $9 per piece.
