St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church of Valley Forge will mark the payoff of its mortgage and the parish’s 45th anniversary with a gala on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Fr. John A. Limberakis Cultural Center in Jeffersonville.
The parish made its final mortgage payment at the end of June, ahead of its July 4 fundraising goal. Its present Byzantine-style church opened in April 2012.
Cocktails, an open bar, and hors d’oeuvres will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm and Greek and American music.
General admission is $150 per person, with children’s tickets available for $75. Sponsorship opportunities are also available through the gala registration form.
St. Sophia formally became a Greek Orthodox parish in 1981, growing from the Greek community that had formed in the Norristown and Bridgeport area during the early 20th century. The anniversary journal being prepared for the occasion will include photographs, memories, and stories from the parish’s first 45 years. Proceeds will help cover expenses associated with the church’s planned consecration in 2027.
Reservations must be submitted by Saturday, September 5, through the parish’s online RSVP form. Questions may be directed to the church office at 610-650-8960. Further information is available on the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church website.

Please confirm event details with the organizers before attending, as dates, times, locations, and registration information may change.
