Thomas P. Nicolaides, 90, of West Chester, passed away on August 17, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born in Chester to the late Paul George and Theresa Kefalas Nicolaides, he graduated from Chester High School in 1954 and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Nicolaides owned and operated Nicolaides Delicatessen at 10th and Concord Avenue in Chester. He later worked as a marketing manager for Abbott Dairies and Breuningers and spent the final years of his career at Giant Food Market in Brookhaven.

He took pride in his Greek heritage and was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Media. He was also an Eagles and Phillies fan and enjoyed poker and boating on the Chesapeake Bay.

Nicolaides was preceded in death by his wife, Anita O. Xanthos Nicolaides; his siblings, George Nicolaides, Frieda Maneos and Helen Cappos; and his son-in-law, Edward Hesling.

He is survived by his children, Michael P. Nicolaides and his wife, Laura; Steven T. Nicolaides and his wife, Roberta; Christine A. Nicolaides Hesling; and Paula M. Nicolaides Poplos and her husband, David. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 East Forge Road in Media. A second visitation will begin Tuesday, August 25, at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Pennsylvania.
