35th Annual THE GREEK AFFAIR to take place September 19-23, 2012!

It’s once again that special time, when the words YASOU and OPA will be shouted again and again, as all the warmth and excitement of Greece comes to Broomall, PA. 2012 marks the 35th anniversary of this premier festival of food, fun and Grecian delights, to be held September 19th through the 23rd on the grounds of St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall PA.

All the charms and delights of Old and New World come together in this now, 5-day extravaganza featuring authentic Greek food, music, traditional folk dancing and so much more. Local area dance troupes will be performing native Greek dances, live Greek music will fill the air and taste buds will be enhanced with delectable Greek cuisine. The festival also features a traditional flea market called the Monastiraki, gift boutiques, a coffee house, a traveling Ancient Greek Museum and of course, everyone’s favorite delicious Greek pastries. There are also rides and amusements for the kids. Wednesday night is Family Night featuring Pay one Price for Rides.

On Friday and Saturday night there will be continuous live music, food and dancing. The Outdoor Taverna will offer live entertainment, great eats and drinks from 8 PM-closing. This year the Greek Affair is pleased to present the exciting sounds and rhythms of Neo Kyma. This talented group of musicians are a local favorite and will be performing Friday and Saturday evenings at the Taverna. You must come prepared to dance!

This year marks the 50th Golden Jubilee for St. Luke which is a very important milestone in the history of the church. There will be a non-stop celebration as the Jubilee Jam DJ will be playing old and new Greek music in the Taverna on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from noon to 4:00PM.

There will be plenty of prizes to win as well. THE GREEK AFFAIR raffle includes 3 chances to win a cash prize of $300, $500 and $1000!
