Vasiliki Kormalos passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 83. She was born in Larissa, Greece, to Eustratios and Eleni Paris, the youngest of five siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike, and by her siblings Fenelon, Erato, and Marika.
She is survived by her sister, Kleoniki Vassiliou, her son, Vassili Kormalos, and his wife, Amy, and her grandchildren, Michael and Melina. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. Vasiliki was known for her independent spirit and the warmth she brought wherever she went. She made friends easily and carried herself with a steady kindness that stayed with people. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, November 26 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Wilmington, followed by the funeral service. She was laid to rest at Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
