William “Bill” Soufflas, a longtime resident of Broomall, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on August 11, 1933, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Gouvis) Soufflas. He is survived by his goddaughter, Diana (Collias) Palumbo and her husband, John; his nieces, Phaedra, Caterina, Susan, and Diane; his nephew, Peter Gouvis; and his son, Jimmy.
Bill spent his life in Delaware County and built a long career in the restaurant industry. Alongside his father and siblings, he owned and operated George’s Diner in South Philadelphia, a neighborhood landmark known for its Greek comfort food, pastries, and welcoming spirit. After his father’s passing in 1986, Bill continued working as a chef in country clubs and restaurants throughout the area, staying active in the kitchen well into his eighties.
He was known for his kindness and love of cooking, often hosting family and friends with generous meals. His Greek-style lamb chops and salmon were among his signature dishes, always prepared with care and pride.
A United States Army veteran, Bill lived a life rooted in faith, hard work, and connection to his community. He enjoyed playing golf, cheering for the Eagles, and spending time with those he loved.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church, 35 N. Malin Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. Interment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, Pennsylvania.
