The Young at Heart group at Annunciation/Evangelismos in Elkins Park, PA, is inviting parishioners and friends to a special “Welcome Back” gathering on Thursday, October 23, 2025, following the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of Saint Iakovos (James) the Apostle.
This event opens a new Speaker Series at Annunciation. The first session, “Seniors, Spam & Scams: A Cybersecurity Discussion,” will be led by Jim Papacostas, an IT professional. He will guide an interactive presentation on recognizing scams, handling spam safely, and protecting personal information online. Attendees will also have the chance to share their own experiences and questions.
The timing is especially meaningful since October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This nationwide initiative reminds us of the simple but important steps we can take to stay safe online, from using stronger passwords to learning how to spot phishing attempts. By connecting the parish program with this broader effort, Young at Heart is helping members gain practical tools and greater confidence in their digital lives.
Young at Heart is a fellowship group for seniors at Annunciation that provides opportunities for learning, connection, and community. The October gathering combines valuable insight with the chance to reconnect over a light lunch.
