FOCUS North America will host its 2026 benefit dinner, Love in Action, on Saturday, May 2, at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Jeffersonville, bringing together supporters for an evening centered on service and community.
The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Sophia’s community hall, located at 900 S. Trooper Road, and will feature Steven Christoforou, Executive Director of FOCUS North America, as the evening’s guest speaker.
Christoforou stepped into executive leadership at FOCUS on August 1, 2024, initially in an interim role, and was formally appointed Executive Director later that November. He brings a background that combines legal training with theological education and more than a decade of work in Orthodox youth and parish life, including his time with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, where he developed widely used programs and media initiatives such as the Be the Bee series.
At FOCUS, he previously led the process for establishing new Centers in local communities, work that now continues at the national level as the organization expands its presence across the country, including ongoing efforts in the Philadelphia area. His approach emphasizes service rooted in dignity, relationship, and direct engagement with local communities.
The May 2 dinner will bring that approach into focus at the local level. Attendees will hear how that work takes shape in neighborhoods like those across the Philadelphia area, and how service grounded in dignity and compassion can strengthen the wider community.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels, from full-table support to individual seating, with recognition provided during the event. Proceeds will support FOCUS North America’s outreach programs.
