Piscataway, NJ – AHEPANs and friends gathered this past Saturday evening for a fundraiser for the building of St. Nicholas Shrine. The evening was co-sponsored by the Ahepa, District #5, Monroe chapter #75. AHEPANs from Camden chapter #69 also attended the event. Dimitri Rozanitis of the national committee said. “We are all working to build St. Nicholas as a national shrine for everybody”. This will a house of worship for the Greek Orthodox and all denominations to visit.” Hosted at St. George Greek Orthodox church, the evening featured music and speakers from the area that spoke on the significance of the shrine to the Greek Orthodox community.

The grassroots effort was led by AHEPA former President, Nicholas Karakostas. The AHEPA announced that it would spearhead a grassroots effort to raise $500,000 over the course of two years for the 40 million dollar project.
