Upper Darby, PA – The Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley hosted its first general assembly of the season on Tuesday and announced new details about the parade. This year’s theme is Asia Minor.
The theme will focus on Smyrna and its history and will feature various events sponsored by the Federation throughout the year. “We will highlight the 100-year Catastrophe of Smyrna, but also the glorious history of Asia Minor”, said Georgia Chletcos, President of the Federation.
The tentative date for the parade this year is April 2, 2023″, said Vice President of the Federation, Harry Karapalides. The Independence Day parade will also see a few revisions and updates. One of those may be relocating the post-parade celebrations. More announcements to come at the next meeting scheduled at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church on October 18, 2022.
