March 2, 2013. Philadelphia. – If you were out gambling this past Saturday evening, you were a winner. But only if you were at the Loews hotel in center city Philadelphia. Roulette wheels, Craps and Blackjack tables covered the floor at the millennium ballroom; while champagne glasses and the voice of special guest singer, Diamantis Dionisiou mingled in the background.
The Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia, hosted it’s “Evening in Monte Carlo Gala”. The Gala event, benefits college bound students with scholarships. The Greek Scholarship fund, the largest in the Delaware Valley, raises nearly $40,000 annually and has raised more than $400,000 since it began some years ago.
The evening included dining, dancing and entertainment with an “Apokriatiko” flavor (read the brochure). Kicking the night off with an elegant cocktail hour and dinner; guests mingled and visited the silent auction in the lobby while Atlantis of Philadelphia played popular Greek music.
Some danced the night away, while others tried their lady luck at the casino tables. With winning tickets in hand and big smiles, raffles were drawn for prizes. Everyone was a winner and the “Monte Carlo night Gala” turned out to be a big success.
The Hellenic University club hosts many events through out the year. For more information about the Hellenic University club of Philadelphia, it’s scholarships program and upcoming events, please visit them online or contact them direct at the following:
