Cherry Hill, NJ – St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, February 2013
St. Thomas of Cherry Hill hosted Holy Trinity of Egg Harbor in a Sunday afternoon GOYA basketball doubleheader that opened with a heartfelt tribute.

Before tipoff, both girls’ teams gathered at center court for a special prayer and flower ceremony in memory of Coach Kiki Canavos, a beloved former St. Thomas coach who passed away six months ago. Flowers were presented to her daughter, Janelle, a member of the St. Thomas girls team.

Once the games got underway, both matchups were hard-fought and competitive through the first half. But Holy Trinity proved too strong in the second, pulling away in both the girls’ and boys’ games.

With these victories, Holy Trinity now holds first place in the D.V.G.O.B.L. standings.
