Pennsauken, NJ – Fifty-six years ago Jerry Karapalides joined the AHEPA. On Tuesday evening he was awarded Ahepan of the Year by District 5 for his half century of dedication and work as a member of Camden Chapter 69. Chapters from across the Philadelphia metropolitan area came out to honor Karapalides at their annual Christmas party at “The Pub”.
Fellow AHEPA members and family reflected on Karapalides efforts, before awarding him with a plaque marking the occasion. “The Pub” restaurant was also recognized for being awarded “Best Steak House”, by the Steve Harvey show on TV.
Karapalides acknowledged his fellow AHEPANS and thanked them for coming out on the occasion. He discussed the importance of AHEPA and love of the Greek community.
