Philadelphia, PA – The Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley have announced the names of the recipients of their prestigious honors during the 2024 Greek Independence Celebrations.
Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, the National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, will be awarded the Eleftheria Medal in recognition of his outstanding efforts in perpetuating Hellenism and his tireless dedication to safeguarding the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Mr. Philip Christopher, President of the International Coordinating Committee-Justice for Cyprus and the Pancyprian Association of America, will serve as the parade’s grand marshal.
The Eleftheria Medal and Dignitaries Dinner will be held at The Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford, NJ, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 5 PM. The event will highlight the weekend’s lineup of activities, including the Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, April 5, at 1 PM at Philadelphia’s City Hall, featuring the elite military unit of Greece, the Evzones.
The Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley, representing over 45 Hellenic-American associations, remains committed to promoting the prosperity of Hellenic ideals.
