Philadelphia, PA – After seven years of dedicated restoration, St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia is preparing for a long-awaited relaunch in January 2013. While additional repairs will continue, the major reconstruction work—carefully carried out over the past decade—will soon be complete.

Recognized by the City of Philadelphia as a historic site, St. George has stood as a landmark of faith and heritage since its founding. It is regularly featured in historic tours of the city and holds a special place in the story of Greek Orthodoxy in America.

To mark this milestone, St. George will host a Gala event on Sunday, November 25, 2012 (Thanksgiving weekend) at Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford, New Jersey. The evening will celebrate the cathedral’s revival, honor its supporters, and raise additional funds to complete the restoration.

For more information about the Gala and how to support the efforts at St. George, please visit their website or search St. George Gala Dinner online. This is more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of perseverance, community, and renewal.
