Cherry Hill, NJ – October 7, 2012

St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church kicked off the month in grand style with its 39th annual Greek Food and Wine Festival—a beloved tradition that continues to grow. Held under crisp fall skies, this year’s event drew record crowds, with estimates ranging between 10,000 and 20,000 visitors over the weekend.

The heart of the celebration was the massive Agora Tent, which buzzed with energy from morning through late night. Long food lines stretched with festival-goers eager for souvlaki, spanakopita, and sweet loukoumades. Smiles were everywhere.

Saturday night turned into a full-blown party as Atlantis of Philadelphia, the area’s premier Greek band, filled the tent with live music. A crowd of all ages packed the dance floor—and eventually the tables—dancing into the night to classic and modern Greek hits. Atlantis has been entertaining the Greek-American community for more than a generation, and their performance reminded everyone why.

St. Thomas continues to be a hub for cultural celebration in the region, blending faith, family, and festivity.
