Upper Darby, PA – GOYA basketball in the Delaware Valley saw two overtime championship thrillers at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church today. The St. Luke Girls and St. George (boys) took home the hard-earned crowns for this 2022-2023 season.
Gia Sioutis of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church led her team with seventeen points over St. Thomas. Her relentless effort to drive to the basket and rebound could not be stopped.

In the boy’s matchup, St. Demetrios jumped out to a ten-point lead early in the game against St. George (Media). However, St. George fought back and stayed close throughout the first half until closing the gap to a bucket. Early in the third quarter, it was anybody’s game as they exchanged leads. In the final seconds of regular time play, St. George, behind by three, hit a three-pointer to tie the game and send it to overtime. Nathaniel Bouragani led his team to victory in the overtime with twenty -eights points as St. George took home the Boys GOYA championship.
