The Delaware Valley Greek Orthodox Basketball League (D.V.G.O.B.L.) tipped off its 2012–2013 season this past weekend at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby. Three games opened the schedule—two girls’ matchups and one boys’ game—kicking off the season with competitive play and strong team spirit.

In the first game, the St. George of Media girls edged out the St. Demetrios (B) team in a close battle, winning 14–10. Game two saw a dominant performance by Holy Trinity of Egg Harbor, whose boys team overpowered St. Luke of Broomall with a 41–11 victory. The third and final game brought another win for Holy Trinity, as their girls team cruised past St. George of Media (B) with a final score of 24–8.

Next week’s games will be hosted at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, PA.
