Haverford Township, PA – St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church hosted its 2nd annual golf fundraiser on Monday. The annual event raised funds for the award-winning Greek School, one of the area’s best language schools in the Delaware Valley. The event was hosted at Llanerch Country Club.
“It’s all about unity and supporting our culture,” said John Ginnis, a co-chair of the annual event and a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church. “Last year, we had some seventy-five participants, and this year we were well over a hundred and fifteen. We were even overbooked but grateful for the overwhelming support of the community”, added Ginnis.
The annual event featured a barbeque stand with traditional Greek food cooked and served throughout the day. In the evening, a banquet ceremony with awards and prized was followed by traditional Greek music and dancing.
